I need to show you the finished scarf from my giveaway parcel, its really lovely and I am delighted.I am equally delighted with this cowl, I'd been looking for a pattern for something chunky and cably, this fits the bill perfectly. I used some Italian yarn that is 40% alpaca, 40% wool, I followed the pattern repeats for a great fit, very soft and cosy with just the scrunched upness I was looking for. I wasn't so pleased that I had to go into the third ball of yarn, I used just over 100 g. Last of all I can now show you my other completed project. This was the second installment of our wedding present for Joanne and Stewart, it's Debbie Abrahams' beaded sunshine cushion from a kit I've had for a while, I'm not sure if its still available but it is very lovely.
Right I'm of to watch the rugby, not that I understand it just too exhausted for anything more strenuous than slumping on the sofa. Have a good week.
The scarf is beautiful Jenny, you can feel its softness through the photo. I hope you enjoy snuggling it round your neck! The cushion is gorgeous too - what a lovely gift! I like Debbie Abrahams' designs, but her blankets are such a labour of love! A cushion is a much more sensible idea! Enjoy the rubgy! Mr JK is cheering on the Welsh!!
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain - we were up till 3 on Saturday morning after a great evening here with friends. We are just. too. old. I'm still feeling it today!
ReplyDeleteThere is always a downside to staying up late whatever you age. I can remember regularly feeling the worse for wear on a Sunday, as a student.
ReplyDeleteThat is a really beautiful scarf, and such gorgeous soft colours! I do envy you your enormous talent for knitting! And greatly admire that cushion.
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree - pensioners need to be tucked up in bed by 11.00 at the latest!
Pace yourself! Have a lie down. Lovely knitting lady. x
ReplyDeleteI love all of the knitting - especially the cushion!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely wedding present. I would be thrilled to receive something like that.
ReplyDeleteI love the colour of the scarf, what a great gift you had!
ReplyDeleteI also love the cushion. I have often thought about doing one but haven't yet. Maybe one day...
Love them all but especially the cowl. No, the scarf. I mean the cushion.
ReplyDeleteHello, thank you for popping over to mine, never had much opportunity to wear the old havianas in Scotland so I'm impressed with you! My husband worked in Edinburgh and he misses it terribly, actually I think he misses having to get properly dressed!
ReplyDeleteNice to 'meet you'
Sandra x
Ugh, I hate late nights with a passion now, can't cope with anything later and 11pm these days, and that has to be a special occasion. Love how your scarf turned out, and the cowl and the cushion! I can't believe how prolific you are, look how long it took me to knit those socks!! I already have a yarn fetish, I've got all the way to checking out twice at online stores and thought "what are you doing??" so cancelled it! I've got enough wool to knit another four pairs of socks and at the rate I'm going that'll keep me busy until next Christmas!!

It also depends on what time you had to emerge the next morning. You are still entitled to have fun you know!
ReplyDeleteLove the scarf Jenny and that really sweet cushion. What a great present. Ros
