I have lovely bulbs flowering inside and out, my orchids are putting on a wonderful display, the little cyclamen I've had for years is doing it's best, but nothing quite hits the spot.
I've started sowing seeds, my sweet peas are up and some tomatoes, I have potting to do and a small bed near the front door to renovate.
I'm wearing new socks and have another pair on the needles, which match very well with the lacy scarf I didn't knit and my knitting bag.Plenty of things to keep me occupied, lots to admire but the usual anticipation just isn't there, I'm not sure if it isn't all the sadness in the world at present that's impacting on me. So many people going through such terrible times and I have much to be grateful for, lots of plans, a birthday party, possibly a visit from a friend overseas, another market stall and best of all a trip to Italy when the Giro passes through our village. That's it, I'm off to give myself a good talking to, then get some soil under my finger nails. Have a lovely spring weekend, I plan to.
It is hard to stay positive when all around us is in such turmoil, however we must remind ourself it is also nature that that provides all the beauty around us such as in these photos you shared here today.
ReplyDeleteI am jealous of your trip to Italy and sseing the Giro. I've seen the Tour de France a few times but would love to see the Giro too.
ReplyDeleteI think ypu have pinched our share of the sunshine this week - its been so gloomy here for days now.
My Mum would have said 'count your blessings' ...... but even that doesn't always work when the blues strike!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean - I almost feel guilty enjoying life when others around the world are experiencing such tragedies. But the sun is shining here in Norfolk this morning, so Mr JK and are are heading along the coast to blow away the cobwebs.
ReplyDeleteSometimes feeling like you 'should' be feeling something makes that 'something' even more difficult to feel. Maybe just wallow for a bit and give it a couple of days?
ReplyDeleteI hope some time in the garden makes you feel more hopeful, hard when there is so much sadness in the world, but I hope it does the trick x
ReplyDeleteWow! What a fabulous Springy post! Love the socks! Sounds like you've got plenty to keep you busy in the garden. Have a great week and I hope the sun keeps shining for you. Ros
ReplyDeleteLOVE seeing all these spring blooms, Jenny--those white hyacinths especially... can almost smell them! :o) Not many signs of spring here yet still...but the snow is slowly starting to melt--hooray! So there is hope. ;o) And during these days where so much hardship happens around the world we must remain hopeful and send positive energy out to those people, out into the Universe. Counting our blessing mean extra much these days... Have fun anticipating your trip to Italy! :o) Happy Days ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteHope that by the time you get this comment you have had soil under your fingernails.... I find it helps sometimes, not always, but sometimes...........
ReplyDeleteI would love to smell those gorgeous hyacinth! Yet another thing that won't grow where we live! We lost our internet last Thursday and just got it back today because of a ferocious storm and today we had a lot more snow! We probably have four feet of snow and two inches of ice to melt before we can even think about spring!!
