Holiday knits
I enjoyed knitting in the car while we travelled to and from Italy, it passed the time nicely though Mr FF was always concerned that I might miss some of the fantastic scenery. On the way out I finished this pair of plain socks in Regiaand on the way back this pair of Tidal Wave socks, a pattern I've used many times, in the yarn I bought in France last year.I also started a little jumper using Trekking which I thought might be a bit loud for a baby but am assured is not. While I was away it was our village show. I didn't have time to make anything to fit the categories baby item or item in double knit so I asked Pam to enter a pair of socks I'd produced from left over yarn in the 'article in any other craft' section for me. I won second prize, 30p for a 10p entry, result.

I don't know how you could knit in the car but the result was good.

Oh well done you! 30p Great times ahead!
ReplyDeleteSocks look fab. I have huge respect for any one who can knit. I'm hopeless. My Grandma gave up on me when I was under 10 years old, I am simply bound never to be a knitter.
*sigh*
haha...such fun photos, Jenny! I love knitting in the car too! Though it can be a fine balance to knit and enjoy the scenery! :o) Loveliest sock...those waves are gorgeous, and love the yarn. Such fun on the win and your second prize--hooray! Happy Day ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteAfter reading this post, and seeing your results, I may have to give knitting in the car a try (whilst hoping that there are no emergency stops when I'm holding pointy sticks!).
ReplyDelete...you have won another prize pop over to my blog...love Helen..ps I knit in the car too...and the cinema....
ReplyDeleteI'm too nosey to knot in the car - I am scared of missing something. I love the socks!! I love village shows - especially the very bitchy comments that are given along with the prizes by the judges. My friend and I nearly died laughing at some comments left (by some obviously bitter and twisted old bat) at the village show in Masham North Yorkshire a few years ago. I wish I had written them down!
ReplyDeleteLove the socks, and the wonderful poses you must have got yourself into to take those photos!!
ReplyDeleteLove your socks Jenny! Always good to hear that you managed some car knitting whilst also taking in the scenary. That's got to class as a 'multi-tasking woman thing!'. I've made a baby cardi and hat in that exact same Trekking yarn. It looked fabulous;lovely and bright. I am assured the baby liked it too! :) Ros
